We're so pleased to share that we're officially a B Corporation! To celebrate we sat down with our Founder Franny Collingham to find out more about what this means for Wild Clouds, our valued customers and the planet!
1. What motivated you to pursue B Corp certification for Wild Clouds, and how does it align with the mission and values?
The B Corp certification perfectly aligns with Wild Clouds' mission of making sustainability and ethics core to the business. We wanted to hold ourselves accountable and ensure we're creating real, positive impact. We see the B Corporation as a framework to solidify our commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
2. Can you walk us through the process of becoming a B Corp? What were some of the most challenging and rewarding aspects?
One of the toughest parts was the rigorous assessment process, which scrutinised every aspect of our business - from supply chains to labour practices. But the reward was equally powerful - realising how much we were already aligned with B Corp values and identifying areas for growth. The support from the B Corp community made the journey smoother and more fulfilling.
3. Have you noticed any tangible benefits since receiving the certification?
Yes absolutely! Being B Corp certified boosts our credibility with our customer base, who increasingly seek out brands with certified ethical practices. It's been great for all those working on and with Wild Clouds, knowing that we're part of a global movement that values people and the planet. It's also allowed us to connect with other like-minded companies, fostering collaborations and new opportunities.
4. What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering B Corp certification?
Take the leap! The process is thorough but that's what makes it worthwhile. Make sure you have strong sustainability practices in place and be open to improving. The B Impact Assessment is a great resource to guide you. Reach out to the B Corp community for support and guidance throughout the process, they're really friendly!
"It's just the beginning of an ongoing journey towards making business a force for good."
